“Battle of Two Hearts” depicting Chief Washakie as a warrior was installed in front of the Washakie Center at the University of Wyoming in 2005.

Washakie was as committed to his people’s education as he was to protecting their lands. Today, education is the weapon my people will need to protect them,” he said. Consequently, proceeds from the sales of Chief Washakie, and matching funds from them Wyoming State Legislature, have resulted in a scholarship endowment at the University of Wyoming totaling $500,000. The monument is in the permanent collection at the University of Wyoming.
