This Northern Plains Sioux Indian rode into battle against
the U.S. Calvary with the name Red Horn. He conquered a lieutenant colonel
and took the officer's jacket and sabre. As was common for the Plains Indians,
when s significant event occurred one's name was changed to reflect the
momentous happening. Thus, when Red Horn rode into camp wearing the officer's
jacket and waving his newly acquired sabre he gave birth to Long Soldier.
